co[lab]: who we are

 

Co[lab] is a San Diego-based creative consortium that engages the arts communities from San Diego and Tijuana to work across disciplines and cultures exploring ways to activate our cities and urban environments through site-specific artistic interventions.

Our roster of artists spans a variety of creative disciplines: music, dance, architecture, painting, sculpture, photography, film, illustration, performance, street/urban art, animation, fashion/style, comics, print-making, and industrial design.

We work with communities throughout the SD/TJ region who seek to enrich their civic life and enliven public space, and we act as a facilitator for commercial collaborations that provide a steady source of income for artists

Utilizing creative-collaboration as our tool, we seek to build powerful bridges of understanding and engagement between countries, communities, creative disciplines, and between art and commerce.

The rewards will be realized in the form of more vibrant communities – physically, socially, culturally and economically – providing our region with a greater sense of connectedness, and establishing a sustainable model of financial support for the artistic community.
